About my work
This space is dedicated to visual storytelling about culture, creativity, and the communities that form around them.
Here, you’ll find moments captured from vibrant events, street-level scenery, and beautiful examples of design and tradition- often rooted in the unique blend of “east meets west” influences found in Southern California. Additionally, my work is shaped by a long-standing appreciation for visual storytelling and the kind of expressive aesthetic seen in pop subcultures, cars, anime, architecture, and everyday life.
While my influence is present in my words and images, the focus is always on sharing a point of view that honors the people, craft, and culture behind the subjects I cover.
This project includes:
Cinematic photography and video about festivals, displays, and street scenes
A look at creative expression across subcultures, fandoms, and art forms
Essays and visuals that explore the aesthetic legacy of eastern pop culture
Purpose
My work is deeply personal to me, so thank you for taking the time to enjoy it. As an 80s/90s kid growing up in Southern California, Japanese and East Asian influences played a significant role in forming who I am and what I value. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve felt a pull- not just to appreciate these influences on the surface, but to understand the people and cultures behind them, and to help others form meaningful connections with this blended, evolving world.
Whether you're here for inspiration, nostalgia, or to explore something new, you're in the right place.
